Data analysis should be a key component to the decision-making practices of every business and organization.  It is a systematic process of deploying statistical methods and logical reasoning to examine, transform, and model data with intent to make inferences, draw conclusions, define problems, and recap stories.

The process of analyzing data serves two essential purposes: 1) to describe or illustrate information, and 2) to provide support for decisions.  It provides a number of benefits to assist the decision-maker (e.g., researcher, senior management, committee, boards, etc.) in answering questions. Analyzing data helps to:

  • Provide structure and meaning to the data
  • Remove human biases and influences
  • Visualize the information and findings
  • Confirm what is known
  • Highlight the unknown
  • Provide support for what to do

Analysts must ensure they are utilizing accurate and appropriate methods when analyzing data.  The improper execution of a statistical test will yield false results.  Data that is analyzed appropriately will assist you in accurately answering questions, drawing conclusions and providing support for continuing with what is working well, implementing changes where needed, discovering gaps, and determining future steps.

PDC will take your data and systematically execute logical and statistical techniques to describe and recap your data so that it is meaningful, useful, and usable.
